CIVIC took inspiration from martime signal flags, used historically to communicate information between ships at sea and to people on the shore. CIVIC engages with Tynemouth Metro Station’s historical and cultural context, drawing on Tynemouth’s rich maritime heritage and strong sense of community. 
Artists: Anna Mud, Bethan Harris, Lucy Thomas. Comissioned by Globe Gallery and Newcastle University. Shown at Tynemouth Metro Station from October - November 2024.
